Brenda Song BiographyBrenda was living in Carmichael, California with her parents, when at the age of five, her life changed. During a trip to the mall in San Francisco, , an agent from a modeling school spotted her. She quickly began her acting career, she was chosen for a part in a Little Caesar® commercial, and then was contacted by Mattel® to act in a Barbie® commercial. Deciding to pursue her career in acting, Brenda and her mother moved to Los Angles while her father and two brothers remained in Northern California. Her career started to move with small parts in both television and movies, including Thunder Alley, Requiem, and The White Fox. These stepping-stones lead to her theatrical debut performance in "Santa with Muscles" with Hulk Hogan. This proved that she had the talent to handle a main character. Brenda continued on with small parts in "Leave it to Beaver", in television she appeared in Nickelodeon's 100 Deeds for Eddie McDowd, 7th Heaven, Judging Amy, and Bette alone with Ashley Tisdale. Brenda Song's more notable appearances where in "The Ultimate Christmas Present" (She won "Best Performance in a TV Movie Comedy, Supporting Young Actress"). She was in Like Mike with Bow Wow and The Bernie Mac Show (She was nominated for "Best Performance in a TV Comedy Series, Guest Starring Young Actress"). Her success with the Disney Channel was enough for them to bring her back for appearances in That's So Raven and Phil of the Future. She then went on to appear in Get a Clue which pulled in over a million watchers. She then went on to co-star in Disney Movie, Stuck in the Suburbs®, and as expected the premiere was seen by over 3.7 million viewers. Later in the year she and Get a Clue co-star Lindsay Lohan posed for a picture that was the cover of Teen People Magazine. From there Disney decided that with her spunky personality and enchanting sense of humor, that she would be perfect for the spoiled heiress that was loosely making fun of Paris Hilton. They wanted her and she was given the role without so much as an audition, the show "The Suite Life with Zack and Cody" (as Yayme Londontipton) became an over night success and eventually won Young Artist Award for "Best Family Television Series (comedy), in 2007 and 2008 Nickelodeon Kids Choice Award nominated Suite Life in the category "Favorite TV Show". Brenda Song, herself was nominated for an Asian Excellence Award for Outstanding Newcomer for her role in the show. She then decided to continue with the Disney Channel and did voices in American Dragon: Jake Long and in Holidaze: The Christmas That Almost Didn't Happen, as well, with the rising popularity of her character London Tipton who keeps saying, "Yay Me", and was given a chance to try an online series, thus named "London Tipton's Yay Me"! In 2006 Disney Channel gave Brenda Song her first starring role as "Wendy Wu - Homecoming Warrior ", the show was a successful as it was the tell of an ordinary Chinese-American teenager who's life is turned up side down when her Chinese heritage hunts her down in the middle of homecoming week. It is the basic embodiment of the power of the human spirit and the struggles that our young society has to handle everyday, and the added element of overcoming almost impossible odds. The Disney Company knows that they have a gold mine and Brenda Song was part of it. They had her return for appearances in the film College Road Trip , with Raven-Symone and Martin Lawrence, a cameo in Camp Rock as girl near lake, as well as a continuing return to the Disney Channel Games as Captain for three years in a row. She was featured on Studio DC: Almost Live and has returned for the Suite Life spin off, "The Suite Life on Deck". She starred in the telefilm Special Delivery, a Lifetime Movie Network film. Brenda Song is schedule to star in, a film Boogie Town, a modern day West Side Story for the next generation, and Disney is going to make the sequel to Wendy-Wu. |
